What services do we offer?

Children, teens, adults, and families (if needed) are all welcome at our practice. As you can see above, all of our clinicians are LMFT qualified professionals and more than capable of helping individuals of all ages.

The services we offer include the following:

  1. Cognitive Behavioral therapy

CBT therapy is considered the gold standard treatment for anxiety disorders and eating disorders.  The treatment focuses on two main elements; cognitive therapy and behavioral therapy.

The cognitive aspect helps us to identify ‘faulty’ thoughts and work to correct them.

The behavioral aspect helps us change our response or reaction to the original thought or obsession.

Focusing on these two core elements makes cognitive behavioral therapy a powerful tool in managing conditions mentioned above.

  1. Mindfulness

Mindfulness combined with cognitive behavioral therapy has shown to be an incredible aid to recovery.

Mindfulness allows you to experience your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations in the present moment without judgment. The lack of judgment is key here. Compassionately experience what you feel and think in the here and now so you can effectively apply the tools and techniques of CBT.

  1. Intensive Outpatient Program

Our IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) is designed for those in need of more individualized and intensive treatment.

If you’re unable to gain appropriate access in your area or are seeking a more concentrated and tailored for of therapy condensed into a shorter time period, this may be the option for you.

Is therapy available online or in person?

Both!

Our offices are based in Calabasas and Westlake Village in Los Angeles County. You are welcome to meet your chosen therapist at our offices and have face-to-face therapy in a comfortable and welcoming environment.

Alternatively, with today’s modern lifestyle, it’s highly beneficial and convenient for many clients to have the option of online therapy.

Options are available to hold sessions via phonecall or video calls using teletherapy software. We understand that life can get busy and fitting everything in can be a stretch. Online therapy is a great way to prioritize therapy sessions even when in-person therapy isn’t an option.

What makes a therapist qualified in California?

California-based therapists must have a master’s degree in counseling or psychotherapy.

The Counseling Degree Guide clearly states…

Professional counselors must have a master’s degree in counseling or psychotherapy; marriage and family therapists must have a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy; and school counselors must have a master’s degree in school counseling or a closely related area. Substance abuse counselors are not required to have a college degree, though having at least a bachelor’s degree can provide an edge.

The Counseling Degree Guide

Only once you have the relevant qualifications can you then apply for your license. It’s a rigorous process and one that is essential.

After all, you want to know you are in safe hands with a trained professional.

To make it simple, if you see LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) or LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor) in the individual’s title, you can feel positive knowing that they have moved through the required qualification and licensing process.
